I can’t believe it has already been a week since Addie’s first birthday party.
As promised, here are all of the details:
The Theme: Rock star! We wanted to do something fun and a little out-of-the-box for Addie’s birthday. And since Addie loves music- what better than a rock star party.
The Invites: I’m usually a Tiny Prints girl, but I found these invites on Snapfish and thought they were the perfect mix of rock star and adorable. I also loved that they were 2-sided so I could include more pictures from our rock star photo shoot.
The Guestlist: VIPS only. We hosted the party at our apartment so we wanted to keep it small. On the invite list: our parents, siblings and a few of our closest local friends.
The Menu: I wanted easy-to-eat comfort food. And of course, it had to fit the theme…so we served up star-shaped cheese and crackers, fruit kebabs, veggies and dip cups, rockin’ rotisserie chicken salad and star-shaped bread, mac n’ cheese muffins, ham and swiss cheese sliders and chips. For dessert- funfetti micro-cones (cupcakes cooked in ice cream cones), banana pudding and a smash cake for Addie.
The Attire: Mike and I made t-shirts. Mine said Momager, his said Backup Dancer. Addie wore awesome gold pants and a personalized onesie (both from etsy) and then changed into a tutu and carter’s onesie to eat cake.
The extras: I think it’s all the little extras that can make a party extra special– for this party that meant a photo opp with rock star props and “swag” party favors (cute boxes filled with hershey kisses).
The Best Part: Addie had so much fun and it meant a lot to us that so much of our family traveled to NYC to be a part of her big day.
