SAHM Diaries: The Importance of a Social Life

Had a lovely lunch date with my friend Ali  and a dinner date with my friend Jess  yesterday. 2 different social outings in 1 day- who am I?!

Did I eat too much? Stay up too late? Am I extra exhausted today? Yes– but it was worth it.

In my experience, it’s really easy to forget to have a social life that doesn’t revolve around your child as a SAHM.  And it’s something that I plan to work on in the future. It was so nice to catch up with my friends and it felt great to put on real adult clothes (wedges, dangly earrings…).  It also made me miss Addie, something that doesn’t happen all that often now that we spend almost every waking moment together.

Moral of the story- it’s important to take a little bit of time for yourself– and, in my opinion, some of that time should definitely include getting together with your girlfriends.

By the way– speaking of social– follow me on social media for more antics, musings and photos.

    1. Yes! For all moms–Always hard to make time for yourself. And sometimes even harder for me to motivate to go out after an already exhausting day.
