Not sure if it’s pregnancy brain or some kind of technical error… But I just learned that part of this post got deleted when it originally went up… So here we go– take 2!
The thing about blogging/social media is that so much of it (all of it?) is done through a filter.
We filter our content, we filter our pictures, we filter the way that our lives look online.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Trust me, I love a good Instagram filter, and I’m never going to be eager to post an unflattering photo on Facebook…
But let me be clear. When it comes to this this blog– I will be honest. I will be real. I’m not going to sugarcoat things.
But I am going to filter. I’m not going to post every detail of our lives. There are boundaries. I’m not trying to portray my life as being any different than it is, but I’m not going to share everything.
I am going to ask– will this upset my daughter when she’s a teenager? … Will this offend any parents? …Will this hurt anyone’s feelings?
I don’t need everyone to agree with me, and I’m not afraid of controversy. But, the last thing I want to do is to contribute to any so-called “mommy guilt.” There’s enough of that as is.
And while I’m talking about this blog– I just want to say “thank you” to everyone who has taken the time to read, to comment, to like…
