When 3 becomes 4…or fake it till you make it?

I had an ultrasound tech yesterday who told me that she had her kids close in age… At one point she had a 2 year-old, a 1 year-old, and newborn twins. I simultaneously wanted to hug her and then ask her ALL THE QUESTIONS.. How did she survive? How did she look so young? When was she out of the trenches?

You see, the thought of going from 1 child to 2 is scary. I already feel busy and tired and overwhelmed… And now we’re adding to that?! Did we really think this through?

In fact, who ever said that we were equipped to be parents in the first place? I still remember being a kid and thinking my parents knew everything (and maybe they did)…But we’re definitely still figuring this parenting thing out… If Addie is fooled then we probably deserve a medal…

And if we manage to fool both kids– I’m thinking we deserve an academy award…(I’d like to thank my family, my high school drama teachers, my friends…)

I guess that’s the thing about going from a family of 3 to a family of 4… About being a parent in general…We’re going to have to figure it out as we go..To fake it till we make it… To figure out what works for all of us… What keeps everyone relatively happy and healthy…

And also to figure out what products that tech uses to look so young… Because mama needs to work on her undereye circles…
